 Tanner:Good start.  Be more specific and add some details - what kind of cars and trucks (pick ups, SUV's or heavier trucks?  and compact ecomony cars, sedans or what?  What people? - where?

Your outline helped me.  I think you want to compare 4x4 pick ups with some sort of car - and I almost get the feeling you could write about how the vehicles function as metaphors for gender.  PU's are male; which cars are female (ecomony, sport, luxury etc.)?

Although most people think hurricanes are more powerful than tornadoes, they really don't know until they've seen the wind speeds, number of deaths caused and the power they bring to earth.  (Josh)

Hurricanes/ typhoons happen on a larger scale (? what do we mean by scale) and get all the press.  Do we need evidence that "Most people think" that? Do people confuse danger and power? Or damage in terms of money and power? Greg
